Welcome to NADD 2011
The International Meeting “NatPharma: Nature Aided Drug Discovery" (NADD) will be held on June 5-8, 2011, in Napoli, at the Conference Centre of the University “Federico II”, Aula Magna Partenope.
The Meeting will be jointed to the "Scuola delle Sostanze Naturali e di Chimica Biorganica "Luigi Minale", June 5-9 (www.scuolaminale.org), sponsored by the Italian Chemical Society.
NADD is organized by the NeaNat group as a part of the NatPharma project founded by the EU ("Reinforcement of research potential for the realisation of a complete drug development scheme from natural compounds).
The meeting will cover all the steps of drug discovery from natural products, including isolation, structure elucidation, synthesis, biosynthesis, expression, study of the mechanism of action, molecule optimization, computational methods and will be organized in four different sessions:
1. Bioactive Marine Natural Products
2. Microbial Genetics
3. From Mechanism of Action to Drug Design
4. The Final Goal: "Druggable Compounds".
The participation of young scientists is strongly encouraged and there will be ample opportunity for them to establish fruitful discussion with internationally recognized experts of the field in an informal and inspiring atmosphere.
The best 10 abstracts will be selected for a short oral presentation.
